FT Tad BrundagePresident of Meridian Consulting Group LLC, Tad is a highly experienced and globally respected expert in risk finance and solutions in the Energy & Marine / Oil & Gas industries. He is known for insightful exposure analysis and innovative approaches to problem solving.

Through his experience living in exotic places throughout the world, Tad has acquired a sense of the spirit of life and an appreciation for the richness of different cultures.

He has learned to think outside the box and has developed insight and business acumen rare to the industry.

The insurance centers throughout the US, London, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East taught Tad over his 30-year career to cultivate strong client and market relationships in major risk management. Tad has enjoyed learning about people in these parts of the world and with them, has created deep and long-lasting friendships.

Tad has held executive positions at insurance brokers including Marsh, as a Managing Director of Marsh Marine & Energy Inc., and Minet Inc, where he was President of Marine, Energy & Construction brokerage operations. His first boss was a woman who taught him to follow his instincts and trust in his talents even in the most difficult of situations, and to laugh at himself.

A Board Member of the International Energy Credit Association, he also holds memberships in the National Energy Credit Association and the Responsible Business Association of Boston. He has been an invited speaker at seminars held by the Petroleum Institute (University of Texas), the London College, and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Fund. A registered broker at Lloyds of London and a licensed Property, Casualty, Life & Health and Annuity broker with a specialty in Environmental, Energy & Marine risks.  Tad also serves as Finance Director for The Highflyers, a major UK-based real estate sales staffing firm. Tad holds a BS in Finance and Insurance from Rider University and an MBA in Business Administration and Finance from Adelphi University.

In addition to his professional activities Tad has been actively involved with solutions for the homeless, in particular with respect to children of the homeless and in using the arts to facilitate inner city children’s growth. He has actively been involved in Bright Horizons, Artists for Humanity, Friends of Boston’s Homeless, Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. In addition Tad is an active investor in KIVA which is the group facilitating micro-lending to individuals worldwide to help promote sustainable economies one individual at a time.

Thomas J. “Tom” Bryant-Meridian Consulting Group LLC

Tom brings  a  unique blend of onshore and offshore energy, marine and diverse risk management experience to his role at Meridian.  His work in the energy business began more than 30 years ago on the drillfloors of Western Canada and on the Beaufort Sea (Arctic Waters).  He later traded in cold steel for other pursuits when he joined the criminal justice community in Western Canada beginning in 1988.

Tom held positions in enforcement and case management within the umbrellas of federal and provincial solicitors general and Alberta Environment over the ensuing years.  At age 44 he left the  federal parole service after his final assignment in PAC region in a specialized unit managing sex offenders in close conjunction with the attorney general’s High Risk Offender ID Program and specialized units of local and provincial law enforcement.  After leaving the Correctional Service of Canada, he was involved in the day-to-day servicing and account risk management of US based corporate risks with a large national insurance brokerage.

He has traveled broadly including the Arctic regions, North and Central America, Europe, North Africa and the Far East.  He led an outdoor leadership program for at-risk youth with the Boys and Girls Clubs for several years and continues to enjoy a diverse variety of outdoor activities including cycling, snowshoeing, diving and gardening.  He reads extensively particularly as regards naval history, polar exploration and criminal justice matters.

He is an associate member of the American Correctional Association and a licensed property and casualty broker and he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Criminal Justice) from the College of Great Falls (MT) and an ARM from the Insurance Institute of America.

Al  Ingham  Jr.-Meridian Consulting Group LLC

A well respected and senior member of the New England Insurance Community, Al Ingham is a 1966 graduate of Northeastern University and has been an active member of the Property & Casualty insurance industry since that time. Al has held his Property & Casualty Advisors License & is a fully licensed Admitted & Surplus Lines Broker.

Al joined the Boston Office of Marsh & McLennan in 1971 as a member of the Corporate Risk Marketing Department. During his 29 year career with Marsh he progressed to the position of Senior Vice President managing the Corporate Marketing Department,  and the Corporate Risk Management Department , all while being the Account Executive on many of the Boston Office’s most prestigious accounts including Raytheon Contractors & Engineers,   Good Hope Refineries,  Central Maine Power and Analog Devices, Inc.

Al has extensive knowledge of the worldwide marketplace and is most knowledgeable with the international rules and regulations governing insurance. He has a long established and sound working relationship with the Insurance marketplace.

On leaving Marsh Al was recruited by Aon Corporation. While remaining in Boston he reported to the New York Office as a Senior Syndicator marketing Aon’s Corporate Risk Accounts Nationwide. This position was held for a number of years and was both interesting and challenging with a wide array of divergent clients.

It is with this sense of new challenge and adventure that Al lends his consulting expertise to The Meridian Consulting Group.

Peter Young -Meridian Consulting Group LLC

Peter joined Meridian in 2010 to represent them in the London market.  He has over 40 years experience in the Insurance industry with an extremely diversified background. Having worked as a Head Office underwriter with a major UK Insurer his sense of adventure led him into the broking sector and a move to Africa where he spent 10 years managing local offices in West & Southern African for the Minet Group.

On his return to London he specialized in the management of the Global programmes for UK based multi nationals. This experience developed into working on a similar project for a major US Oil company which led to his transfer into the Energy sector, ultimately becoming the Managing Director of the Onshore Energy division of Minet. During this time he worked with a number of major Oil companies as well as the development of business in the Middle East.

He moved to Marsh in 1995 and was soon made Managing Director responsible for their Energy business in Asia/Pacific. Initially based in London he later lived in Singapore for 2 years and during this time he worked with the Risk Management departments of all the worlds’ major Oil companies as well as the national Oil companies throughout Asia.

More recently he has worked as a Consultant with the London and Asian offices of a major International law firm and on behalf of a newly established Lloyds syndicate, based in Singapore as head of Business Development.

David J. Webster-Meridian Consulting Group LLC

David brings to Meridian a lengthy professional career which began with the Northern Assurance Group in Glasgow, but which soon led him into risk management because of his interests.  David qualified by examination as an Associate of the Charter Insurance Institute early in his professional career. As a Risk Manager he has worked for major companies such as Boskalis Westminster Dredging, Viking Offshore Pipelines, British Petroleum and Shell Exploration and Production.

As a Senior Risk Manager with British Petroleum in the UK and US, David handled some of the largest exposures in the worldwide insurance markets.  In that capacity he adopted and used the latest risk management techniques available to transfer and offset risk including the use of Captive Insurance. He also negotiated the most favorable terms and conditions for major construction and operational and charter contracts on behalf of his employer.

While with Shell as an Insurance Consultant, David played two leading roles on behalf of the Oil Industry in helping to introduce the first standard forms of contract for the offshore industry, known as the CRINE contracts and also in attempting to reach an agreement between the UK Government and the Oil Industry in relation to security aspects relating to the future abandonment of North Sea Oil related structures.

While with British Petroleum in Cleveland at the time of the takeover of the Standard Oil Company of Ohio (SOHIO) part of David’s responsibilities were, the management of a large number of personal injury related lawsuits (excluding Workers Compensation) in all geographic areas of the USA where BP/SOHIO operated.

David has traveled extensively for his past employers and is enthusiastic and passionate about both the oil and insurance industries and is prepared to travel on behalf of Meridian clients, as their needs require.

Born and raised in Scotland, David’s interests are DIY, golf and rugby. In his earlier years he played on a leading Scottish Rugby Club team and was on the team that won the Scottish Rugby Championship.
