For those of you have read with interest the way in which this age-old problem has become newsworthy in 2009 I hope you will find it eye-opening. The problem has not changed radically rather it ebbs and flows as it has for time immemorial. And for those of you who have gone to sea to work as I have you know that the problems are simply more visible when they involve an American flagged ship which was perhaps inevitable.
